There is good news and there is bad news – the good news is that our 1st Annual Haunted Open House, a Halloween-themed Business Networking and Costume Party here in Knoxville, was a huge success! The bad news is that it’s over until next haunting season… but you can bet we’ll be back with the 2nd Annual Haunted Open House next year with even more decorations, more scares and so much spooky fun that you’ll be gasping for air!
Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us, we hope you all had a great time, especially the kids who came out. To the parents of those children, they were adorable and extremely well-behaved!
And another big thanks to Tom & Barry’s Restaurant for catering our party. The food was delicious and the service was great. Everyone loved it! We’d also like to thank Rita’s Ice for providing blueberry (with REAL blueberries) water ice, as well as Elegant Essentials Home Decor & Gifts, Haze and Co. Salad Dressings, Fox Fitness and HoundDogs for donating great door prizes, thank you for your contribution and support!
Join the Slamdot team at our spine-tingling downtown office for a howling good time at the 1st Annual Haunted Open House Business Networking and Halloween Party on Friday, October 23 from 5:30pm – 8:30pm. All you should bring is a costume and your business cards, although neither are required! Of corpse, oops, I mean of course, it wouldn’t be a party without some light refreshments and wine. We’ll also have some door prizes to give out.
So come hang out with the Slamdot gang and your other colleagues for the only Halloween Business Networking in Knoxville!
Please RSVP on Facebook.
You can watch our office party live on ustream.tv! Anyone in the Knoxville area is welcome to come down and hang out with us!
No music can drown out this noise. It’s hard to hear each other, even though we’re shouting across the room! The construction has really begun here on the 100 Block of Gay Street. They brought in large machines to tear up the road, shake the buildings and confuse the office pets. We’ll get through it though!

The Scoop on Gay Street

If you’re wondering why our website looks a little strange today, it’s because we’re joining in on the fourth annual CSS Naked Day to help promote Web Standards, and simply because it has been a long week and we’re having a little fun. Daniel is nervously watching the telephone, waiting for the confused callers to come buzzing in. Rest assured, everything will be normal again tomorrow!
So, shed your styles and come on in, the water’s fine!
The team here at Slamdot would like to wish you, your family and your friends an exciting and fun-filled holiday season! Be safe, enjoy yourself, and spread a little cheer.
And don’t worry about your hosting, we’ll have that covered even as Santa takes to the skies, so let those sugarplums dance on as you rest in peace!

After putting out some ghoulish decorations a couple weeks ago, we spent this afternoon decorating our office even further for Halloween, which is just two short weeks away. As luck would have it, some of the spiders we set free all over the office (plastic of course) were a cool, yet spooky, neon lime green, so they matched the normal office decor at the same time.
The dense spider webbing really added a nice touch to the doorways. I just hope our guests at the office aren’t arachnophobic or we may end up meeting somewhere for lunch instead.

So, why all the ghastly excitement? Well, we really got into the Halloween spirit this year more than last because we had a hand in getting a big Halloween bash started here in downtown Knoxville called Scare in the Square. With All Hallows Eve falling on a Friday this year it fell into place perfectly. There will be a live band, costume contest, trick-or-treating among businesses, and other games for kids. It should be enough fun to make a werewolf howl!
Happy Hosting, Happy Haunting, and Happy Halloween!
